Today is Recipe ReDux Day, and the theme is tea. Goodie goodie gumdrops - that's a great theme!

I am a tea freak... like I keep tea in my purse at all times because I don't want to be without tea. Ever.

I even keep boxes of tea at relatives' houses just in case.

When I'm at my sister's house, my niece and nephew always help me make it. They know that I'm going to be having tea at breakfast, likely some other time in the morning, in the afternoon, maybe another time...

Whenever I "need a break" {read: don't feel like playing anymore or feel tired of watching Sophia the First}, they know I am going to need a cup of tea.

My favorite thing is when I am stressed and they say "Hey Meme, do you want a cup of tea?"

    It makes me melt.

Speaking of melt, today was their last day of school. Can they get any cuter?

last day of schoollast day of school

    Anyways, back to tea...

They like to pick out which flavor I'm going to drink. White tea... Green tea... Peppermint... Christmas smelling tea... so many options!

Which is one of the reasons I wholeheartedly love tea as much as I do: there are so many options!

    Everyday I drink at least one cup of green and one cup of white. Every single day. {Like I said earlier, I am never without tea}

I swear that white tea is what prevents me from getting a cold. The only times I have gotten a cold in the past few years was when I skipped my daily white tea habit.

I've written about my love for tea before {see here and here}.

But I realize that not everyone loves tea like I do, but they are interested in reaping all the wonderful benefits tea has to offer.

I once made a Green Tea and Mango Smoothie, so I thought today I would do a white tea version to showcase my beloved white tea.

I like to make the tea in advance and just use one bag of white tea for 8 ounces of water {1 cup}.

If I didn't make the tea ahead of time, I'll just pour 4 ounces {ยฝ cup} very hot water over the bag of tea. Let steep for about 5-10 minutes; remove tea bag; add 4 ounces {ยฝ cup} ice cold water. That should bring it to about room temperature. You are using frozen fruit so that'll help the smoothie be nice and cold.

I love this as a portable breakfast since it has lots of protein and some caffeine in there.

It's also a great pre-workout snack or post-workout snack. Or you can split it and make it into a smaller snack if desired.

Honestly, I don't know when this smoothie wouldn't be a good idea because it's packed with veggies, antioxidants, fiber, and protein.

Berry White Tea Smoothie for the win!

Awesome! I love that it isn't green, so I can get most people to try it. But the fun part is that there are still veggies in there; just not as obvious to the pickier eaters ๐Ÿ˜‰
        Enjoy!
