Brownies made from black beans with no flour or butter! There's even some spinach in there too, but you'd never know

Black Bean Brownies from Living Well Kitchen blog

    Black bean brownies? What?

Yes, brownies made from black beans - they are good!

And even I threw a little spinach in there too in an effort to make them a little bit healthier.

No worries though because I promise promise promise that you can't taste the spinach or the black beans. All you taste is chocolate!

Please note that these still have a good amount of sugar {ยพ cup}, so they aren't health food. But they are a lot better than typical brownies full of butter & white flour.

These brownies have no flour - just black beans & cocoa powder, which makes them gluten-free (be sure you use certified gluten-free ingredients if needed). They are also dairy free; though they do have eggs in them.

I only tell you these things unless you avoid certain foods because of allergies. I don't have any food allergies luckily, so I don't avoid gluten, dairy, eggs, etc. I just like to let you know in case it helps you.

With Valentine's Day next week, they're a perfect way to celebrate. Super chocolaty & if you add a few sprinkles, they'd be a very festive dessert for the holiday.

Or just make them and gloat inside when everyone tells you how delicious they are and have no idea that they are eating brownies made from beans and spinach. Ha!

    • 3 large eggs
    • 3 tablespoon avocado oil
    • ยพ cup granulated sugar
    • ยฝ cup cocoa powder

    • ยฝ teaspoon instant coffee powder
    • ยฝ teaspoon baking powder
    • โ…› teaspoon salt
    • ยผ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

    • Put the black beans, spinach, and eggs in the bowl of a food processor and process until completely smooth. {You want there to be absolutely no chunks of beans!}

    • Transfer to the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with chocolate chips, and put in the oven.

I love how thick these black bean brownies are! I've made black bean brownies several times now, but they tend to crumble when I cut into them. I love how dense your brownies are!
