A simple, sensational, and satisfying steak salad that is free of the top 8 allergens. You certainly will not feel deprived of all the flavor and toppings on this delicious salad!
First, you make a cilantro lime dressing that doubles as a marinade for the steak.
Because I don't have a grill, I just cook my steak on the stove (like I do in this steak with mushroom blue cheese sauce recipe), but you are always welcome to use your grill if you have that luxury.
Once the steak is cooked, you really don't have too much work other than opening a can of beans, rinsing & draining them, then slicing a roasted red bell pepper.
I buy the already roasted red bell peppers because they make life a lot easier, and I honestly don't enjoy roasting bell peppers because I hate trying to peel off the skin.
Toss together the lettuce (I used spring mix) with half of the remaining dressing, black beans, and chopped roasted red pepper.
Serve topped with the sliced steak, and add extra dressing if desired.
Quick note that it's not the thickest dressing because there is lots of yummy lime juice, so you really don't need that much to get lots of flavor.
So just start with adding a little at a time.
And there you have it - a simple & sensational steak salad.
Enjoy!
