A healthier version of Ham & Swiss cheese sliders with no mayo
Sliders are great party food
They're small and cute and perfectly portioned. They're little bites of goodness.
These are based on this recipe from The Girl Who Ate Everything blog. I changed them up a little by skipping the mayo & miracle whip.
I'm not a huge sandwich girl but I thought these were really good. They would be even better if you had some honey baked ham, but I just used ham from the deli.
Make sure you season the "mayo" mixture because I think it definitely needs a little something. They're pretty plain without it.
And when I say "mayo" mixture, I mean cottage cheese because I have an obsession with avoiding mayonnaise and using cottage cheese instead.
I especially like doing it when it's something that's going to be baked. The thought of hot mayonnaise makes me gag.
The thought of hot, melty cheese sounds delightful. Even if you're not a cottage cheese lover, this is a good substitute. I promise you don't notice that it's cottage cheese.
They'll be a great addition to a Super Bowl party for sure
