Saucy, flavorful Lemon Garlic Shrimp served with a piece of good french bread is a delicious dish that's easy to make
Lemon. Garlic. Butter. Shrimp. Parsley. and a good loaf of French bread.
Boom! Best shrimp dish ever.
Ok, maybe not the best shrimp meal ever because this Shrimp Nicole with spinach and artichokes is quite possibly the closest you'll get to heaven on earth. And then there's always my favorite Shrimp Po' Boy Salad or the ever surprisingly good Coconut Shrimp & Grits.
But seriously, this Lemon Garlic Shrimp is the bomb.
If you're forgoing meat on Fridays during the Lent season, then I highly recommend making this Lemon Garlic Shrimp.
It's based on one I've seen a million times on Pinterest and a few of my friends have made it. After finding the recipe, I realized that the amount of butter was pretty intense.
The recipe says it serves 8, but 2 pounds of shrimp for 8 people is not very much. Those are like pretty small portions, but still... two sticks of butter for 8 people is a lot. And if you base the yield on a realistic serving size, then two sticks to serve 4 to 6 people... that's about 4 tablespoons of butter per person. Hello, stomachache!
I'm not against all butter but that's a little much. I kept butter in the recipe but used some broth to add liquid and extra flavor. You can use chicken or vegetable broth.
This recipe is incredibly easy to make.
It'll take about 30 minutes from the very start to the second you take your first bite of this heavenly shrimp with buttery-brothy-yumminess sopped up with a piece of bread.
Here's what you do...
Take the heads off the shrimp (but leave the shell & tail on). Put in a baking dish. Sprinkle with pieces of butter and add broth to baking dish. Cover with a bunch of garlic, some red pepper flakes, and salt. Bake. Sprinkle with parsley and fresh lemon juice.
Enjoy and sop up all the buttery-juicy goodness with a piece of french bread. I also like to add sauteed green beans, carrot fries, rosemary & garlic carrots, or a side salad to get in some veggies.
