Cooking bacon in the oven is much easier and not nearly as messy or painful

As a child, I grew up sitting on the counter watching cartoons or fishing shows {#redneck} with my dad while he cooked us bacon.

Cooking bacon is a labor of love as it is usually pretty common to get splattered with a little grease at least once during the process.

My dad has quite the colorful language, so he always had some choice words when the bacon grease popped onto him while he was turning the bacon.

As I got older, the smell of bacon grease coupled with my dad's choice words got me out of bed on Saturday mornings.

And now, the smell of bacon brings back happy thoughts and brings on a grumbling stomach.

Luckily, we now cook our bacon in the oven.

It's much easier and not nearly as messy or painful.

The other day, I mentioned oven baked bacon to someone, and she had no idea that you can cook bacon in the oven.

It was like her mind exploded at the thought of not having to stand over the stove waiting for the bacon to cook as the bacon grease tempts you with the possibility of splattering on your arm.

    It's extremely simple.

You line a rimmed {make sure it's rimmed or the bacon grease will go off the side of the baking sheet} baking sheet with foil {for easier clean-up}. Then place the bacon in one layer on the baking sheet, and put in the oven. Bake until done. Drain. Enjoy!

I'm going to have to try this. I normally microwave my bacon but at times that doesn't work out so well. I love my bacon really crispy but not burned. Being that I have to eat high protein, high fat diet due to my bariatric surgery, I'm going to have to bake me up some bacon this afternoon! Stopping by from SITS Tribe!

You absolutely must try baking your bacon. It is life-changing! It's much less effort {and clean-up} than any other method. I seriously swear by it. I just made some oven baked bacon this afternoon, in fact ๐Ÿ™‚
Thanks for stopping by! I look forward to reading your blog

Perfect. I've been wanting to try this technique for awhile and finally did. I got so much grease off of the pan (to save for later, obvs!!) and the bacon is cooked perfectly. I will probably cook my bacon this way from now on. Thanks!

It's seriously the BEST way to cook bacon!! So much faster than pan frying a few slices at a time. Glad you had success with it too, and happy that you didn't waste that precious bacon grease ๐Ÿ˜‰

SO you're telling me that this will not splatter all over my oven and make a mess???? Hard to believe since I tried to do chicken wings in the same manner and it made a total mess of my oven!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
