    This spiked apple cider screams fall! It's the perfect festive drink for your holiday table.

    Spiked Apple Cider

    Thanksgiving - it's the holiday I look forward to celebrating the most every year.

    It's before the holiday hustle; it's not rushed; it's not overhyped; it's not packed with too many plans, parties, and presents. It's just a group of family and/or friends coming together to give thanks over a really delicious {and really big} meal.

    Since college, I've cooked a Thanksgiving dinner for friends - Friendsgiving. I look forward to it every year! I make elaborate meal plans and collect all my recipes and get ready for the big feast.

    Every year it gets better and better. I've definitely improved my cooking skills since college, and my entertaining skills have been refined as well {thank goodness!}

    A $4 bottle of wine is no longer an acceptable option for those looking to imbibe at the holiday table. Not only is that just mean {hello hangover}, but it's not very festive.

    Spiked Apple Cider

    You know what is? This Spiked Apple Cider.

    Plus, it's made in a slow cooker, so it's super easy. And you can easily make it non-alcoholic. In fact, it starts out non-alcoholic until you add in that rum when ready to serve.

    The best part is that it will add no stress to your holiday menu. You can literally just throw all the ingredients {minus the alcohol} into the slow cooker and leave it alone while you make all your other holiday dishes.

    And that's it!

    A fun and festive drink to serve this Thanksgiving that'll take your holiday entertaining to the next level. Boom!

    Ingredients

    • 1 gallon apple cider or juice {unsweetened 100% juice}
    • 5 cinnamon sticks
    • 1 tsp ground ginger
    • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
    • 1/4 tsp allspice
    • 1 orange sliced
    • 1 apple cored and sliced
    • 1 3/4 cup dark rum

    Instructions

    • Add all of the ingredients to a slow-cooker. Cover and cook on High for 1-2 hours or Low for 4 hours.
    • Keep on Warm or Low until ready to serve. Stir in rum just before serving.

    Notes

    In a pinch, apple juice will work. It won't be as full-flavored but it's still yummy. Make sure that no matter what cider or juice you use, you get 100% juice with no added sugar

      Love Friendsgiving!! Ever since college, I feel like I have been somewhere else for Thanksgiving, but great company and delicious food always. I've been craving apple cider lately - this is going on my round-up for tomorrow 🙂
