No Sugar Added Sugar Cookie Dough Dip is so tasty, you'll have no idea it's made with chickpeas and sweetened with dates!
There are lots of days that I am glad I live by myself... like days that I spend hours cooking in my pajamas all.day.long.
Or when I make salad dressing with vodka instead of vinegar because I was so preoccupied using a bottle of vodka as an impromptu microphone to notice that it was not, in fact, vinegar. It was vodka.
Vodka dressing? It's pretty gross as you might imagine, and it will not be included in next week's Salad Week... But if you're looking for vodka, try Red Roosters, Yellowhammers, Drunk Smoothies, Cranberry Orange Vodka and Mojito Limeades
Another time I love living by myself is when I make something so delicious that I can't bear to part with any of it. I don't mean to be selfish, and if I had someone else to share with then I certainly would. But I'm not going out of my way to give it away.
I know... it's not nice to not share and I'm sorry. But as I dip another apple slice into this bowl of deliciousness, I am honestly not worried that you will think I'm selfish. Because you would be too.
If you make this dip, you will likely be just as hesitant to share. So I suggest making a double batch for you to share with a few other, fortunate souls.
Not only does this stuff taste incredibly delicious, it's not bad for you like the name might imply!
Just dates are used to sweeten this No Sugar Added Sugar Cookie Dough Dip. Along with some almond extract, vanilla extract, a little salt {which helps intensity the sweetness}, and some love - this cookie dough dip doesn't need the cup or half cup of sugar that most cookie dough dips call for.
There is still sugar because dates naturally contain sugar but it is not added from granulated sugar, honey, maple syrup, etc.
My original previous version uses powdered sugar and brown sugar, and while those are fine on occasion, I feel a little better about putting dates in my body instead of added sugar with no other benefits.
This Cookie Dough Dip also doesn't have the butter, flour, and other typical ingredients found in most cookie dough dip. Woohoo!
Since today is Sugar Cookie Day, I decided to do a sugar cookie version.
Seeing as I have almost polished off this batch and have already started brainstorming new flavors, I see more cookie dough dips in the near future.
But I doubt anyone will object to that because this is a healthy snack that you can feel good about enjoying. Since it's made with chickpeas, it has protein and fiber to keep you full. It's also great for food allergies - it's gluten free {use certified gluten free ingredients}, dairy free, egg free, soy free. It isn't nut free but I am working on a version that will be.
Like I said before, it still has sugar so don't go overboard but it is a much much healthier alternative to so many sugary snacks. And it's incredibly tasty, fun to eat, and satisfying. Enjoy!
