Sweet and Spicy Chocolate Covered Strawberries are little packages of chocolatey, sweet, and spicy treats for a delicious and healthy dessert
You need to make these Spicy-Sweet Chocolate Covered Strawberries as soon as humanly possible.
Sorry about the demanding start to my post; I just need you to understand the urgency of these chocolate-covered strawberries. They are the world's most delicious chocolate-covered strawberries, and I've now made them 4 times in the past week.
I'd like to pretend that it was just for recipe testing, but after the second "attempt," I'm just gonna call a spade a spade. I can't stop making these delicious chocolatey treats.
Why? Well, they have a mesmerizing balance of flavors: sweet, salty, and spicy. There's juicy and chocolatey in there too which means you really can't go wrong.
Chocolate covered strawberries are an adorable dessert to make for Valentine's Day {these Chocolate and Raspberry Tartlets are too!}, but I guarantee I'll be making these all year long. I am obsessed with them.
Not only are they incredibly delicious, but they are made with easy-to-find ingredients.
Only cocoa powder, coconut oil, maple syrup, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, and salt.
The pumpkin seeds add a little extra crunch but aren't mandatory. However, making these strawberries is mandatory.
They are so satisfying, I can't even explain. It's like every flavor combination in one little package. One little bright red, heart-healthy strawberry package.
You need to know that the consistency of the chocolate coating is a little different because these are not made with the standard chocolate "coating" or chocolate chips.
They're still really easy to make -- melt coconut oil, stir in maple syrup then cocoa powder, cayenne pepper, cinnamon, and salt.
But you'll want to make extra sure that your strawberries are completely dry, and then you'll have to do a little encouraging of the chocolate to make sure it sticks to the strawberries. It slides off kind of easily, so just don't let it worry you as you make these.
All you need to do is just get chocolate on those strawberries however you feel like doing it.
Once they sit in the fridge and the chocolate hardens, they look like normal and they taste even better!
