Recently, I was discussing Cinco de Mayo themed posts with my friend, Nicole, and she mentioned that she had made a tequila-soaked melon "salad" ~ consider me intrigued...

I immediately demanded to know all the details about said recipe.
She elaborated on the ease and tastiness that is the Tequila Melon Salad, and then I decided that I needed to test it out for our barre3 Crawfish Boil/Pool Party.
It was the perfect addition since melon is nice & cooling and lovely on a warm day.

How to Make This Tequila Melon Salad
This Tequila Melon Salad is also quite easy to make.
All you do is chop one cantaloupe, one honeydew melon, and about ¼ of a large watermelon. That should give you just about 18 cups of melon.
You could also just buy 18 cups of chopped melon to really cut down on the prep work {but it'll cost a little extra}
Add the chopped melon to a bowl and pour in the tequila, triple sec, juice from one lime, and a touch of salt {to bring out the sweetness of the melon and cut the sharpness of the tequila}. Cover it up and let marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
It's best if you let it hang out together for at least 2 hours or up to 24 hours, stirring occasionally.
Just serve it with some cups or with toothpicks. I like to have little cups with toothpicks, so people can eat the fruit but also get some of the melon-infused tequila along with it.
This is also really delicious if frozen and/or added to a glass of champagne or Prosecco.
It makes about 18 cups and should serve about 8 to 10 people.
Did I mention that this would be a perfect way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo?
Well, I think it would! But don't mind me and my intoxicated melons... 😉
