    About Mango Green Tea Smoothie

Smoothies are a great option for breakfast or snacks.

If you're looking for a quick, portable, energy-boosting smoothie, this green tea mango smoothie is for you.

It has only three ingredients and takes less than 3 minutes to make.

Pro tip: Make the tea the night before or while you're getting ready so you don't have to wait for it to steep. It adds about 5-8 minutes to your prep time.

Plus, this mango green tea smoothie is full of protein, antioxidants, vitamins & minerals, plus a little caffeine for extra energy.

As with most smoothies, it's easy to make this your own and adjust amounts to suit your taste preferences.

Use about 1 to 2 cups of fruit + ¾ to 1 cup of yogurt + about 8-12 oz of liquid.

glass of mango green tea smoothie with an orange swirly straw next to a bag of frozen mango, a box of green tea, and a container of greek yogurt.

    Ingredients

Green tea: To make a green tea yogurt smoothie, you'll need green tea.

Water: You'll need hot water to steep the green tea then ice-cold water to cool it down and add to the smoothie.

Greek yogurt: For protein, add Greek yogurt. Any flavor works well.

Mango: Frozen mango is helpful because it's already cut and frozen for you. You can also cut a fresh mango and put it in the freezer. Alternatively, you can use fresh mango in the smoothie and add a little ice to make it colder and thicker.

    Recipe Cost

    • Green tea 1 bag: $0.10
    • Water 1 cup: $0
    • Greek yogurt ¾ cup: $0.84
    • Frozen mango 1 cup: $1

TOTAL COST: $1.94 (Based on San Diego grocery stores 2023)

    How to Make Allergy-Friendly

This mango green tea smoothie is naturally gluten-free, egg-free, soy-free, and nut-free. If you want it to be dairy-free, use dairy-free yogurt.

    How to Fix a Mistake

Too sweet: If it's too sweet, add an extra spoonful of plain yogurt.

Not sweet enough: Add extra mango or drizzle in honey.

Too thick: Add extra water by the tablespoon until it reaches your desired consistency.

Too thin: Add ice or frozen mango (in ¼ cup increments) and blend until it reaches your desired consistency.

    Make-Ahead Ideas

Make the green tea in advance. Simply brew a cup of green tea, let it cool, and keep it in the fridge until you're ready to throw together the smoothie.

    Storage Suggestions

Keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 6 days or in the freezer for up to 6 weeks.

You can stir and drink from the fridge. If you want it to be a thicker consistency, add ice and blend.
