Ingredients
¼cupsesame seeds
15ouncecan chickpeasrinsed and drained
2tablespoonlemon juice
1tablespoonolive oil
2tablespoonwater
¼teaspoonsalt
⅛teaspooncayenne pepper
1cupartichoke hearts
Instructions
Add sesame seeds to the bowl of a food processor. Process until they turn into a butter.
Add chickpeas, lemon juice, olive oil, water, salt, and cayenne pepper. Process until completely smooth. You may need to add extra water to help blend.
Add artichoke hearts and process until smooth. Taste and add seasoning if needed. Serve with sliced veggies and/or whole grain crackers
Notes
*Can use 2 tablespoons of tahini in place of the ¼ cup sesame seeds. Skip the step to process the sesame seeds and add tahini with chickpeas.*Makes 1 ¾ cups.
