Ingredients
1teaspoonolive oil
2 ½cupsbroccoli slaw about ½ of 12 oz. package
¼teaspoongarlic powder
½teaspoonItalian seasoningno salt added
2tablespoonwater
8oztomato sauceno-salt-added
½teaspoonsugar
⅛teaspoonsalt
¼cupshredded mozzarella cheese
¼cupshredded parmesan cheese optional
1teaspoonchopped fresh basil optional
Instructions
Heat oil over medium-high heat in a medium skillet. Add broccoli slaw. Saute for 2 minutes.
Add garlic powder, Italian seasoning, water, tomato sauce, sugar {if using}, and salt. Stir well. Bring to a simmer and lower heat to medium-low. Simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove from heat. Stir in mozzarella. Plate spaghetti, and sprinkle with Parmesan and basil {if using}. Enjoy!
Notes
*The small amount of sugar helps bring out the natural sweetness in the tomato sauce. You can omit it but it might taste a tiny bit bitter. My personal preference is to add the sugar.*Nutrition facts include parmesan cheese.*Based on this recipe from Hungry Girl
