Ingredients
1cupmaple syrupreal maple syrup, no imitation or pancake syrup
1 ½cupswater
1 ⅓cupscocoa powder
2tablespoonvanilla extract
⅛teaspoonsalt
Instructions
In a saucepan, whisk together the maple syrup and water and heat over medium.
After about 3 minutes, stir in the cocoa powder and whisk to completely combine. I think it's easier to add a little at a time {ex: add ⅓ cup, then whisk, then add ⅓ cup more, etc.}
Whisk constantly for 5 minutes, until it thickens slightly.
Remove from heat, and stir in vanilla extract and salt. Let sit for about 30 minutes until cool and transfer to a jar or squeeze bottle. Keep refrigerated for up to 1 month.
