Easy homemade pizza sauce with a lot less sodium and added sugar than store-bought. Tastes better too!

Ingredients
8ounceno-salt added tomato sauce
6ouncetomato paste
6ozwarm water3/4 cup
2tsphoney
1/2tsponion powderor dried onion flakes
1/2tspgarlic powderor 1 tsp minced garlic
1 1/2tspsalt-free Italian seasoning
1/4tspsalt
1/4tspred pepper flakes
1/4tspground black pepper
1/4cupparmesan cheesegrated, about 1 oz (optional)
Instructions
In a large plastic or glass bowl, whisk the tomato sauce, tomato paste, and water together. Whisk in honey and all remaining ingredients. Can use immediately. Cover and refrigerate when not in use.
Best if covered tightly and let sit for at least an hour. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Store in the refrigerator for up to a week or frozen for 3 months.
I like to freeze the sauce in 1/2 cup sections, so I can defrost the amount I need to make a pizza.
Notes
*The nutrition facts do not include parmesan cheese.*For more flavor, use 1/2 teaspoon salt and add parmesan cheese. This will increase the sodium to about 175 mg per 4 tablespoon serving.*Makes 2.5 cups (20 ounces)
